Tips And Tricks To Make Boyfriend Jeans Look Feminine!

At some stage in a girl’s life, she has access to a literal pair of “boyfriend” jeans. There might be a pair in your closet right now. Traditional boyfriend jeans are styled to look exactly like men’s jeans, so if you have access to a pair of men’s jeans you will be able to style them into a pair of girly “boyfriend jeans” easily.

What Are Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans are women’s jeans that have been made to look and feel like worn-in men’s jeans. Boyfriend jeans have wider leg and thigh openings to make their fit a bit baggier. If you have access to a pair of men’s jeans you can easily style them into boyfriend jeans as well.

Let’s look at how you can take a pair of men’s jeans or a pair of boyfriend jeans and make them look fabulously feminine.

How To Make Boyfriend Jeans Look Feminine?

Before we talk about how to make these jeans look feminine, let’s talk about what they actually are. So, boyfriend jeans are typically oversized jeans that are loose, super comfortable, and worn with a rolled cuff. They’re not cut to show off your curves as they’re meant to add a little masculinity to your look and make it seem like you’re wearing men’s jeans.

Now, although these jeans are meant to look kind of baggy when worn, you’re not supposed to be drowning in denim so do bear that in mind when choosing a pair!

Let’s start with the color and style of your boyfriend jeans.

Boyfriend jeans come in various colors but to make your look more feminine go for lighter color jeans like light blue or white. This is because the darker you go, the more masculine you’ll probably look as black and blue are commonly perceived as masculine colors.

In terms of style, go for a ripped or cropped pair of boyfriend jeans to show off a little leg. But if that’s not your cup of tea then wearing a pair of boyfriend jeans with a frayed hem can add a touch of femininity to your look.

The top you choose can make all the difference!

To achieve a nice balance of masculine and feminine in your look, go for a close-fitted top to show off the upper body. Crop tops, camisoles (especially those with lace), and bodysuits make for a good look. If you’re feeling a little bold then fab choices are sheer tops, tops with a plunging neckline, or tops with flared, ruffled, or ruched sleeves. And when it starts getting a little colder opt for a cute, off-the-shoulder sweater.

You can’t go wrong with bright/pastel color or floral tops but a slightly loose white t-shirt or shirt, tucked in can also work very well. And if you add statement earrings or a long chain with a pendant then you’ll be onto a stylish, more feminine look!

But what about shoes?

Boyfriend jeans can be worn with many shoes but for an ultra-feminine look go for pointed stilettos or strappy heeled sandals. Other good options are heeled open-toe mules and high-heeled, pointed ankle boots. If you’re not into heels then a cute pair of ballet pumps or glittery, sparkly, or crystal trainers are good choices.

Basically, avoid masculine or chunky shoes and when it comes to colors, match your shoes with your top or go for a contrasting color.

Celebs love boyfriend jeans too and they make theirs look feminine in various ways.

Back in 1961, Marilyn Monroe wore boyfriend-style jeans in the movie The Misfits. And if anyone can make boyfriend jeans look feminine it’s her! Marilyn wore a simple white shirt with her jeans but it was her hair and make-up that added femininity to the look.

A few years ago Rihanna was spotted wearing her boyfriend jeans with jeweled pointed heels and a ruffled blue and white button-down top. And Victoria Beckham has been seen wearing her jeans with a loose white, cap-sleeved t-shirt, sunglasses, chunky chain link necklace, and red heels.

So, there are many ways to make boyfriend jeans feminine from how you style your hair to the shoes that you wear!
