My Story

On a windy Wednesday in November 1969, I screamed my way into the world. I remember reading the Virginia Woolf biography in my final year of college (1994). One of the things I remember was that it mentioned her visit to Gerald Brenan in the South of Spain.

In 2013 the opportunity presented itself to make a move to the Alpujarra valley in Spain’s Sierra Nevada mountain range. As luck would have it I managed to settle in a village a mere 30 miles from where Virginia Woolf visited.

One great part about living where I do is having a trailhead a couple of hundred yards from my front door that allows me to indulge in my other passion for trail running.

Finishing another 10k

My work as a therapist doing PTSD counseling took an interesting turn at the start of 2019. I had a sudden increase in patients with varying degrees of gender dysphoria. What I learned through those therapy sessions was that there was a lack of positive and uplifting content on the internet for girls starting out their journey of transformation.

That lead to the seed of an idea to create a single resource that covers aspects of self-care from emotions though to beauty, style, and makeup as well.

Thanks to the help from my running coach who had started his own blog, Pink Femme was created in May 2019.

Although I haven’t been super prolific in my writing through the summer of 2019 when the weather was too good to pass up a chance to go for a run, I have kicked up the output in the 2019/2020 winter and hope to carry that momentum forward.

You can also find me on Pinterest, Twitter, and the Pink Femme Sisters on Patreon.

That’s me!

PS. If you also enjoy trail running go and give my coach’s blog some love too. It is called Trail run Planet.
