Should You Wear Perfume?

Putting on perfume after my morning shower is a ritual that connects me to my inner feminine energy. I cannot imagine a day that does not include the fragrance of my perfume.

Every girl should wear perfume whenever she can. Your fragrance is an extension of your inner feminine essence and should not be neglected.

Let’s take a closer look at the reasons why wearing perfume is so important.

Is Perfume Something You Should Wear?

The sense of smell is essential in our daily lives. It allows us to identify food suitable for eating, dangers, enemies, and potential mating partners. Certain scents can trigger long-forgotten memories, alter your moods, or encourage you to improve your performance. Wearing perfume not only fights body odors and improves the way you smell to others; it nurtures a positive outlook on life and encourages us to be more confident.

No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory.

Perfumes, scented oils, or powders have been around for many years. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans used perfumes for medicinal, beauty, and religious purposes. Presently, fragrances are like accessories to any outfit, and the right one will make a lasting and memorable impression. A great scent plays a significant part in people’s perception of us.

Choosing the Right Perfume

Choosing the right perfume or your signature fragrance is tricky to do, but it is not difficult. Perfumes or fragrances contain scent notes that consist of three different layers. These notes determine the overall aroma of the perfume, but there are many other factors to consider to ensure that you find the right fragrance for your body chemistry. Before purchasing a perfume, you should consider your skin type, ph balance, temperature, and most importantly, your personal preference. It is best to spray a little on your body to identify if a particular scent is right for you and one you will enjoy.

Correct Application Of Perfume Is Key

The purpose of wearing perfume is to make a lasting impression, but you do not want it to overpower your presence or push people away. Once you have chosen your perfect scent, here’s how you should apply it.

  1. Apply perfume right after a shower or after moisturizing your skin.
  2. Spray perfume on pulse points such as the wrist, behind the ear, inside the elbow, the bottom of the throat, and behind the knee. Do not rub the area once the perfume has been applied, as this will alter the scent of the perfume.
  3. Too much perfume can be overpowering; therefore, a light spray goes a long way. It is best to reapply your fragrance every 3 to 4 hours.

Make Your Perfume Last Longer

There’s no doubt about it; some perfumes are expensive. You may even be on the last bottle of your favorite scent because the manufacturer has discontinued it. The reason for this is many perfumes contain scarce ingredients, such as unique flowers or rare essential oils. Therefore, you would like to make the most of your fragrance and ensure that it lasts for a long time.

A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.

The five types of perfumes are Eau de perfume, eau de cologne, eau de toilette, and Eau de Fraiche. Each type has a different concentration or proportion of perfume to alcohol, determining how long a scent will last. For example, choosing an Eau de perfume will make your scent last longer for up to five hours. Spray perfume on your clothes as the fibers may help to hold scents for a very long time. Lastly, do not store your perfume in areas that get hot or have too much light. These factors will break down the chemical make-up of the scent and weaken its potency.

Correct Perfume Etiquette

Wearing too much perfume can trigger an asthma attack or give someone a headache. We have all experienced being overpowered by someone’s fragrance, whether on the street or at work. When it comes to perfume, consider the personal space of others and apply a light spritz, as this may be all you need to make a lasting impression.

Just like our wardrobe, we have to adjust our fragrance as the seasons change. Some perfumes are more suited for summer months, while others work best in a colder climate. Another factor to take into consideration is the occasion. For example, there are some instances where perfumes are not allowed, and others that require a particular type of fragrance.
