Weigh Success A Better Way

Over the years I have noticed that when I measure my worth by what the bathroom scale says, I set myself up for disappointment. From one day to the next there are factors that cause our weight to fluctuate up and down. Some of those factors are under our control and some are not.

What works better for me is to circle a date on the calendar for a 10-mile run or half marathon – usually once per month. Then, over the 4 weeks leading up to the “target run” I will be up before the sun every day for a training run and make sure my nutrition keeps me healthy. For me, success is getting to the end of that run – even if I walk part of the way.

I find it better to measure my success by factors that I can control, rather than those I can’t. For instance, here on Pink Femme, the number of page views and clicks to Amazon are completely out of my control (thank you to all of you who do read the blog). What I can control is how many times a week I can publish a new article.

Measure your girly success by how femme you can feel on the inside, rather than whether other people think you “pass”. Hugs

I bet you’ve heard the health advice which suggests that a person should measure weight-loss success by tape measure instead of by scale.  Personally, I like both because each serves as a barometer.  Besides, I can’t give up the scale because it feels extra femmy to step on the scale in nothing but lacy panties and see my painted toenails on either side of the reading.  That’s a great gym bunny moment.

There are other ways to measure one’s gym bunny success.  It is such an incredible feeling to fit into clothes that had once become too small.  In boy mode, that’s always a fantastic feeling.  But even better?!  Fitting into my wife’s clothes.  Now, that’s motivation!  When that happens, after a period of clumpy maleness seasons, it fuels more and more desire to shrink into her smaller clothes.  Believe me, I don’t brag about it to her!

Obviously, my manly frame won’t allow me to fit into all of her items.  She is tall but quite skinny.  So, for example, all the fat loss in the world won’t shrink the length of my foot.  Shoes are mostly out, though I can squeeze into some.  I won’t ever fit into her bras either, as suggested in the caption.  I’m way too broad for that.  Some dresses and shirts are out too.

Some things work and it’s pure bliss.  Sliding into her pants, her skinny jeans, capris, shorts, or skirts are possible.  I know that if I can put those things on without bouncing, wiggling, and dancing around like a teeny bopper then I’ve achieved some goals.  Then, it’s like the clothes are cheering for me, “You’ve done it!  You go, girl!”  Yes, that brings a big pretty smile to my heart.  And if there is a dress that could work, I’m unsure if there is a better feeling than the back zipper sliding up and coming to its close.  Wow!  Now, that can cause me to throw my head back and squeak out a little “Yes!”

I hope that you are someone who has concern for his/her health.  Exercise doesn’t have to be a pain.  Having a moderate diet doesn’t have to be loathsome.  Being disciplined as a girly boy certainly has its perks.  If you are indeed working toward a slimmer and girly physique, find some ways to measure your success.  Be patient with yourself and celebrate the victories as they come.

You’ve got this, girlies!  Much love to you.
