Okay, so you may know what wrinkles are, but what about fine lines? Here’s the scoop: fine lines are like “baby wrinkles.” They appear from repeating the same facial expressions (smiling, frowning, raising those eyebrows), but they can deepen over time into more permanent wrinkles. This change happens as our skin naturally loses elasticity and moisture, which is all part of the aging process. That’s totally normal, but with some skincare know-how, we can manage how these changes show up on our skin!

How to Manage Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Aging is part of life, and skin naturally gets thinner and drier over time. But certain things, like UV rays, smoking, and air pollution, can speed things up. The good news? Your skincare routine can make a big difference in keeping skin smooth and comfortable, no matter what’s happening around us! Here are some skincare habits to help manage and even prevent fine lines and wrinkles over time.

Anti-Aging Tip #1: Maximize Hydration

Keeping skin hydrated is my top skincare rule. The reason? Skin loses moisture as we age, so giving it a hydration boost is key! Here’s what I do: after a shower or a good cleanse, I apply a serum followed by a moisturizer. Serums give the skin a big hydration boost, and moisturizers help lock in that hydration. It can take some time to see results, so don’t be discouraged—after about six weeks, you should see smoother, plumper skin!

Anti-Aging Tip #2: Don’t Neglect Your Eye Area

Did you know the skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your face? It also shows the first signs of aging. That’s why I never skip eye cream—my personal favorite is the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Manuka Honey Eye Gel (available on Amazon). It’s super nourishing, helps with puffiness, and makes my under-eye area look brighter. I use it morning and night, and it feels amazing!

Now, I make sure to apply moisturizer and SPF to my neck daily, and before bed, I add an extra layer of moisturizer to keep it soft and hydrated. This might be the most important tip. Sun exposure is one of the biggest causes of premature aging, so SPF is essential! For extra sun protection, I try to stay in the shade during peak sun hours and always wear a hat and sunglasses when I’m outside.

Nighttime is the perfect chance to give your skin a little extra love. When we sleep, our skin does a lot of its repairing work, so I like to use an overnight mask or heavy night cream for added hydration.
