Stroked Ego

This post was written by Candace during National Dressing Up Day, otherwise known as Halloween. No matter how we dress up for that holiday, it is always fabulous to receive a compliment that we look pretty or elegant depending on the look we were going for. It strokes our ego.

The same applies to receiving compliments about our outfit choices at other times of the year.

As much as we all love receiving compliments, giving compliments can be tricky as we never know how they will be received. Saying something like, “That outfit looks good on you.” Might come across as a little creepy. An alternative might be to compliment a gorgeous set of nails, or how a shade of sweater looks against the wearer’s skin tone.

If the opportunity arises to give an ego-boosting compliment this next week, then do so – but choose a specific aspect of how the outfit was styled rather than the overall. Also, maybe start with compliments to those you know rather than walking up to a stranger and trying to give a compliment even if they have styled their outfit beautifully. Hugs.

It’s always great to receive compliments.  Even better, it’s great to give them.  I’ve never been someone who begs for a compliment.  Sure, I’ll take one; and it’s encouraging when I’m loathing in self pity and question my validity.  With that said, as humble as I would wish to be, my feminine ego totally approves of the message in this caption.  Due to my anonymity–and of course, REALITY–I doubt I’ll ever hear it, but it would absolutely stroke my ego to the extreme if I could dress really girly and someone declare, that, even though I’m a guy, “He’s hot!”  I’d have to be cautious, though.  Such a compliment would give me the big head. 😉

Have a sexy Halloween, my girly friends!

I stay in shape by trail running. When I am not writing posts to help you be as feminine as you can be, I work as a therapist.
