The vast majority of us don’t have the confidence to make a drastic change to our appearance and head out into the world straight away. We have this nagging fear that people will see our new look and judge us harshly – maybe even say something negative.
At the same time, we are all capable of making a small change and still feel confident enough to face the world. That is exactly why I always suggest that girls take small steps when they start working on being more femme. You do something that is just a little outside your comfort zone and allow your confidence to adjust – before taking the next small step.
All these small steps add up over time and the small bits of confidence start stacking up and help you to become a more confident girl. What are you doing today that will add a small bit of girly confidence to your life? Let me know. Hugs.

Small victories go a long way toward building your confidence. IF anything, it’s the small victories that allow you to have a little fun while maintaining some sanity.
Going out somewhere dressed in girls’ clothing is not something that I do frequently without any care in the world. I’ve been out androgynously with my wife in secure locations or when out of town. This usually means all girl clothing, but you might have to look hard to really tell. These are moment of small confidence…and they’re fun too, for both me and my wife.
It’s a rare occasion when I step out in such girliness by myself in public spaces. I know, I can be kind of a coward like that. But hey, we live in a small town and small towns talk about odd sights.
On Saturday night, after a long day working in the yard, my wife, Jenny, decided she wanted a glass or two of wine while watching a movie at home together. So I went out late to the local big chain pharmacy (i know, not the best wine available, but they’re not all bad). Anyway, I decided to be just a tad adventurous. I already had on panties and bra and didn’t want to discard those options. I slid on a pair of my women’s jeans and one of my wife’s tank tops. I layered it with a scoop neck women’s shirt of my own and then slid on a pair of my keds without socks. Just for the fun measure, I also slid on some of my wife’s leather bracelets.
Of course, I had to pass my wife’s inspection. As I’ve noted before, she is more cautious than I am and I always honor her insight. She gave me somewhat of a sideways glance and that funny little smile that drives me nuts. But she approved partially, saying that I looked a little too girly. Considering the time at night though, she sent me out without asking that i make any change to my appearance.
I was a little nervous, but not too bad. The drugstore was just down the street and there were only a few shoppers in the place. No one paid a lick of attention. Or if they did, nothing mattered them. The clerk at the counter was a non-issue. He was just doing his job.
I returned home and we enjoyed the movie and wine together after the kids went to bed. Of course, I eventually changed into something a little more comfortable (if you know what i mean).
You don’t have to go all out to find your confidence, even if that’s what you really want. Sometimes, you just need a little fun and adventure, no matter how minute it might be. So, have fun and take your victories when you can. If you’re like me, then you may not have the best opportunities to dress and go out. Just find your moments and enjoy them, especially if you have someone to share in your experiences.
Much love to you all,
Candie
