New Every Morning

I remember reading a motivational quote that went along the lines of expressing that you don’t need a New Year to change your life, all you need is a Monday. And yes it is true. Any Monday can be a perfect day to start being girly. In fact, any day of the week can be a perfect opportunity to be your first day.

I have heard girls say that their motivation to be girly doesn’t last. They find that their desire to be girly might ebb away. Think of your motivation for being girly as similar to how we think of bathing. After you have had a bath or shower, you won’t stay clean and fresh forever. That is why we have a bath or shower every day.

The same applies to being and feeling girly. Do something every day that helps you feel girly on the inside. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture or even visible to anyone else around you. Being girly is the best feeling, so don’t let an opportunity to feel girly pass you by.

It is a conscious effort to set aside what has been branded into my mind about being male.  Yes, sometimes it just flows through me and there is no second thought.  Most of the time, though, I have to remind myself that good girly habits need to be formed or sustained.  It’s not a matter of forcing it.  It’s a matter of healing the years of my mind being poisoned with masculine this, masculine that, boys are this, boys aren’t that, and all the “real men” do’s and don’ts.

My workouts in my girly athletic wear help.  My showers with sweet-smelling shampoos and soaps add to it.  My grooming amplifies it.  And selectively chosen clothing expresses it.  It’s a daily renewal, a daily restoration that must and can take place as I strive for more girliness to present itself more fully in who I am.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are boys who have been privileged to have the upbringing, environment, and support to be exactly as they should be in any amount of their girlness.  I also have no doubt that many of them have not been so blessed.  I haven’t been, at least not always.  At any rate, we all have an opportunity each day to renew the girly spirit within us. Might I even dare to say that we have an obligation each day to live girliness afresh; not just for ourselves, but for all of the girly boys longing for femininity to be more true to them than ever?

I love all my girly friends and that means you.  May today be a fresh day for your girly successes.

I stay in shape by trail running. When I am not writing posts to help you be as feminine as you can be, I work as a therapist.
