“Let’s Be Girly”

Maybe life has a way of seeming to block you from becoming as fully girly as you might want. It might be work, school, or family that is limiting your girly dress-up time.

No matter what those circumstances may be, it still can’t stop you from carrying yourself like a lady. Sit like a lady with your knees together. Walk like a lady with the insides of your elbows and wrists pointing forward.

Keep girliness in your awareness so your posture can remain feminine. That way you’ll be able to get through drab times with less frustration. Let’s be girly in any outfit.

This post was created by the talented Candie Hart and originally appeared on her Tumblr blog. It is reproduced here with her kind permission. Be sure to check out more about Candie at the end of the post and give her some Pink Femme love.

So, this is the second attempt at my thoughts for this Monday.  For some reason, my saved and queued post disappeared and was never posted.  Maybe something wrong with the Queue again.  If by chance, it was taken down, I’d like to know why so I won’t make the mistake again.  Anyway, I’ll attempt to recreate what I had written.

This morning was one of those Monday mornings where I was practically all “male.”  It was a mundane Monday morning, diving back into work, trying to catch up from the weekend, and pushing forward into the next week.  The only thing girly about my morning was the women’s tennis shoes I had on and the men’s bikini briefs, which are sometimes a decent alternative to panties.  I could faintly make out the fruity aroma of lotion I slathered all over my body after my shower, but that was mostly it.  There wasn’t much of Candie to brighten the mood.

I could hear the whisper, however.  My girly heart was nudging me for some girly time.  It was softly telling me things like, “Sit like a lady.”  “Loosen your wrists.” “Soften your motions.”  “Work your girly gait when you walk.” “Hug your coffee mug and sip demurely.”  “Elbows in.”  “Legs together and ankles crossed–like you’re wearing a skirt.”  “You should be tucked in, girly boy.” etc., etc.  I’d probably have to describe some of those thoughts, but I knew what they meant.

My heart was whispering to me.  And you know what?  I followed some of the advice and it perked up my mood.  Yes, my girly heart was wishing for some playtime–some expression of femininity, some effeminate mannerisms, words, thoughts, and feelings.  What else could I do?  I can’t ignore such a pleasant and hypnotic voice.

Maybe you have those moments.  I’m sure you do.  If you’re a girly boy, it can’t be helped.  You can decide how you will listen to those sweet words, whether to act on them or put them off.  Know this, however.  Even while completely (or mostly) “male”, the soft whisper will eventually get your attention to follow its sweet urgings–” Let’s be Girly.”

Have a sweet day, my girly friends!

I stay in shape by trail running. When I am not writing posts to help you be as feminine as you can be, I work as a therapist.
