I am sure that you all realize by now that the whole focus behind Pink Femme is bringing you wholesome and supportive content.
The internet is full of content that aims to degrade/humiliate you. Add that to the predominant culture in our society that seems biased against those who choose to be girly. The result is girls who feel unhappy with their lives and who they are.
Just know that I am thinking of you. You are my motivation to keep adding supportive content to Pink Femme, both content that I write and also by guest writers who share my vision like Candace.
This post was created by the talented Candie Hart and originally appeared on her Tumblr blog. It is reproduced here with her kind permission. Be sure to check out more about Candie at the end of the post and give her some Pink Femme love.
In the most non-creepy way that I can, I want to say to each of you that you are truly and always on my mind. I can’t stop thinking about you. I obviously know so very little about you, but because we share this girly passion, you’re constantly on my mind. I can’t help it. I know your struggle. I haven’t just entered into it, I’ve been living in it my entire life–and I don’t know that it will ever be free within my lifetime. So, I create captions and write thoughts out because of you. It’s a release for me and it’s an open diary for you.
I want so desperately for you to know that you are just fine the way that you are and that being girly is okay. The problem that sits at the root of your struggle is not you. The systemic problem is our culture’s dualistic gender bias/expectations. IT’S NOT YOU.
I realize how much of what I write must sound like a broken record. I’m laughing right now thinking about how many of my posts seem to be the same thing over and over again. But I also know that not every caption or blog lands in the right hands all of the time. So, if even 1 post lands in the lap of a sweet, skirted, pantied, feminine boy, then that would make me happy.
I think I’m rambling. I just love you, my girlies, and I want the best for you in your life, mind, and spirit.
