I Want Cute Clothes

These past few weeks have been olive harvesting time here in Spain – picking our organic olives and taking them to the mill to be magically turned into delicious olive oil. Why am I telling you this and what does have to do with what Candace wrote and created in her caption? While I’m picking olives I’m dressed in my oldest worn-out pair of jeans and sweater. The shoes on my feet are my trail running sneakers from 4 or 5 seasons ago. My outfit is about as far from cute as is possible with anything in my closet.

The situation that I’m in dictates the clothing that is practical for the job at hand. In some way that gives me a glimpse into what many of you face most of the time.

What I will say is that even when I’m harvesting olives in my ugly clothes, I still want to wear cute clothes. I still want cute clothes. I look forward to the opportunity to go shopping for cute clothes. That is what makes me happy.

Each spring I look forward to wearing a pretty skirt that makes me feel cute as it swishes across my freshly waxed legs.

This year I hope that all of you, my girly friends, get to feel a little cuter and prettier more often than you had the opportunity to do last year. Hugs.

I admit.  I play a courageous game on Tumblr.  Lots of girlies want to know how I manage out in society, with my friends, at work, etc. etc. They must assume that I’m as bold in public as I am in our secretive, anonymous, second-hand social media tribe.  As much as I wish for my girliness to be more public, the possibility for me is not so affordable.  Now, to my credit, I stand behind every word of encouragement.  There might be some that are more fantasy-driven and wishful, but the reason why I share as much as I do is mostly because I’m preaching to me.  I need it.  Maybe, 50 years from now, someone will really heed my encouragement and enjoy what I have not been able to do.

I have my “girly” days in public, but never so cute and feminine so as to draw attention to the fact that I’m completely adorned in women’s clothing–and smell that way too.

I really want cute clothes all the time.  I want to wear them in public.  I want to feel cute, pretty, feminine.  I want cute dresses, skirts, rompers, suits, blouses, leggings, etc. to work, with family and friends, to clubs, restaurants, movies, etc.  I want to wear pretty jewelry and enjoy a light coating of makeup whenever I want to feel special.  Maybe as much as anything, I’d want someone to help me find those cute clothes that fit me well and be my sidekick when I go out dressed in them.  It think it’s my right to do so and it’s so wrong that I can’t.

In spite of the taboo that oppresses us, I believe in the caption.  It’s my right to be just as cute as any girl.  But even more, perhaps many years in the future, we girlies of the present will have opened up a door that future girly boys will finally be able to prance through.

Have a great day!

I stay in shape by trail running. When I am not writing posts to help you be as feminine as you can be, I work as a therapist.
