How To Use Eyebrow Gel Like A Pro

We’ve all experienced days when stray eyebrow hairs don’t want to stay in place no matter how much we work our brows with our spoolie. The hidden secret used by makeup artists is brow gel, sometimes also referred to as brow mascara. This is the product for keeping your brows in place while boosting their appearance at the same time.

Eyebrow gel is a type of mascara but formulated for your eyebrows. It has a gel consistency and a spoolie applicator that helps comb and locks your brows in place. It is usually one of the last steps of a makeup routine. Clear eyebrow gel is most common but colored formulas are also available.

You might wonder if eyebrow gel is even necessary. I think so because it can help tame unruly brows quickly when you are pressed for time. That said, if you don’t have an eyebrow gel on hand, you can do what I have done while traveling and swipe on a little clear mascara as an emergency solution.

How To Use Eyebrow Gel:

  • Clean Your Brows
  • Fill And Shape Your Brows As Normal
  • Grab Your Brow Gel And Set Your Brows

Let’s look at the steps in detail so that you can add an eyebrow gel to your routine, and be a brow gel pro in no time.

Clean Your Brows

As always it is best to make sure you’re working with a clean, blank canvas when applying makeup and eyebrow gel is no different.

If you applied face makeup beforehand, put a little bit of micellar water on a cotton swab and run it over your eyebrows to remove any product that may be lingering, without ruining your perfectly applied foundation.

Fill And Shape Your Brows As Normal

If you plan to use any other eyebrow makeup to fill in and shape your eyebrows, do that now. Style your brows as you like. Then finishing by using your spoolie to comb and shape them as you wish.

Grab Your Brow Gel And Set Your Brows

Take your eyebrow gel and pull the applicator out of the tube. Carefully wipe the spoolie brush on the inside of the tube to remove any excess product.

Using the spoolie brush, simply comb the product through your brows in the direction you’d like your hair to go. In a minute the gel will be dry, and you’ll be all set.

When it comes to my choices for makeup and beauty products, I only use  L’Oréal Paris (Available on Amazon). I have really sensitive skin and never once have I had any negative reaction to any L’Oréal product.
