How To Feminize Your Feet In 8 Simple Steps

Your feet are what connect you to mother earth in a physical way. We also talk a lot about stepping into a feminine lifestyle. So it makes sense that taking the time to feminize your feet is vital to your journey.

How to feminize your feet? The first thing that girls think of for feminine looking feet is some cute pink or sexy red nail polish. However, it is smooth, soft and hydrated skin that will make your feet feel more feminine. Combine that with trimmed cuticles and neat toenails to make your feet girly even without color.

While it is true that pink toenails will make your feet look more girly in open-toe sandals, there is more to feeling girly about your feet.

1: Remove excess hair

I’m always surprised how many girls neglect to remove the hair from their feet. How can your feet possibly look and feel smooth with hair? I know many women who only ever shave their legs from the ankle up because they only ever wear sneakers.

But you are a better girl than that. Get into the habit now of keeping your feet hair-free and smooth. Later, when you shave your legs don’t forget to include your feet and toes every time.

2: Indulge Your Feet In A Short Soak

Fill your tub or a large bowl with lukewarm water. I always add some Epsom Salts to the water. You can add in a couple of drops of essential oil to feel pampered. I love using rosemary oil, which the National Center of Biotechnological Information has found to have skin hydrating properties. Let your feet soak in the warm water for five minutes before removing them.

3: Treat Your Calluses

The American Academy of Dermatology states that calluses are hard, thickened areas of skin that form as a result of friction or pressure on the skin. To treat calluses, they recommend soaking your calluses in warm water for about 10 minutes, exfoliating with a pumice stone, and moisturizing daily with a lotion or cream to help gradually soften the hard calluses.

So, if you do have some calluses, exfoliate them with a pumice stone after 10 minutes of your foot soak, and return your feet to the warm water afterward.

4: Gently Scrub Away Dead Skin Cells

While your feet are still damp from your soak, apply sugar scrub to your heels and any other areas that may feel rough to the touch, like your toes or the sides of your feet. Don’t scrub your feet raw. The idea is some gentle exfoliating. You will do a little more next time. Remember to rinse off the sugar scrub afterward.

5: Moisturize While Your Skin Is Still Damp

When you have finished your soak, scrub, and rinse, pat your skin dry with a soft towel and then immediately reach for your hydrating moisturizer. Rub the lotion or foot cream between your palms of your hands to slightly warm it and then massage it onto your feet until fully absorbed.

The warm water will open your pores – ideal for absorbing hydrating lotion. Putting lotion on cold will be far less effective.

6: Seal In Hydration

Once you have finished moisturizing your feet, cover them with a soft, cushiony pair of cotton socks (preferably with grips). This will not only help keep you from slipping but will also keep the products you’ve just applied from transferring to your floor.

7: Put Your Feet Up For A While

Rest and put your feet up while the moisture hydrates your heels, soles, and toes. You can read a book, or catch up on your girliest Pinterest boards. If you pamper your feet before bed, simply go to bed with your soft cotton socks still on to keep the hydrating formulas in place while you sleep.

8: Repeat weekly

Now that you have fabulously smooth skin and soft feminine feet, it would be a waster for them to go back to how they were. Maintain their look and feel by indulging your feet in a weekly treat that includes a short soak, quick and light exfoliation.

However, for the first two weeks, I suggest that you have two foot-treatments each week to get your feet properly feminine and then reduce to once a week.

Even if you have not done a special foot bath, using lotion on your feet after a bath or shower will give them regular nourishing moisture so that your skin will be sandal-ready any day of the week.

BONUS TIP:

This foot care routine is all part of a good pedicure. So, when you get to the stage where you really want to book a professional pedicure you will already be familiar with what will happen.

Your beauty therapist will be professional and do a good pedicure no matter what condition your feet are in. At the same time, she will be able to see that you take good care of your soft, feminine feet. Nine times out of ten this will mean that you’ll get a little more pampering at the salon.  A beauty therapist can appreciate the effort that you have put in to be an elegant lady all the way down to your toes.
