How To Choose Perfume?
Perfume is considered a luxury item since it is not something essential, but it definitely adds appeal to the person wearing it. Since each perfume is different from the other, you have to choose the one that perfectly suits your personality and preference.
There are four basic steps on how to choose perfume. These include: determining the price point of the perfume that you want to buy; choosing which scent family you want y0ur perfume to have; consulting with others for their ideas and opinions; and shopping for the best perfume for you.
Determine Your Preferred Price Point
The prices of different perfumes can vary from affordable to extravagant. Many companies are able to manufacture perfumes that would cost under $20, but some luxury brands would create perfumes costing hundreds to thousands of dollars.
So, the first step in choosing a perfume is to determine the price point of the perfume that you want to buy. Do you have the money to buy luxurious perfumes that are amazing and long lasting? Or do you prefer those that would cost less yet would still smell good on you?
Choose Your Scent Family
Perfumes are generally categorized into four scent families. However, some perfumes would contain discreet combinations of scents from different families. The four scent families are fruity/citrus perfumes, sweet/floral perfumes, Chypre/woody perfumes, and spicy/oriental perfumes.
Fruity or citrus perfumes would often have the scents of lime, grapefruit, apple, apricot, orange, or peach. These perfumes would give off a refreshing and lively scent.
Sweet or floral perfumes would often use scents of orange blossom, lavender, rose, carnation, or other cut flowers. The scent of these perfumes is described as sweet and delicate.
Chypre or woody perfumes are often used by men because of their masculine scent. Using scents of patchouli, oakmoss, or bergamot, these perfumes would smell earthy and woody.
Spicy or oriental perfumes would often contain scents of vanilla, cinnamon, or star anise. These perfumes are characterized as complex and musky.

Before actually going to the mall or fashion boutique to buy your perfume, you can first talk to your best friend, sibling, or parent/s to get their idea or opinion on which type of perfume would be suitable for you.
