I can remember an occasion when I was on a first date with someone I liked a lot. Near the end of the date, I went to the bathroom and noticed that I had my favorite red lipstick on my front tooth. Oh, the embarrassment!

Let’s look more closely at the 7 easy to follow tips that will prevent you from going through the same embarrassment that I had on my first date years ago.
Blot Your Lips
After applying your favorite lipstick it is always a good idea to blot your lips with a tissue. Place the tissue between your lips and smack your lips together to remove any excess. This is a quick and easy way to protect your teeth.
Use Your Translucent Powder
Loose translucent powder can do more than setting your makeup in place. Use a makeup blender or a fluffy brush and lightly tap the powder on your lips. This will lock your lipstick in place but it will also mattify your lip color. If you are going to use this method it is best to choose matte lipstick.
The One Finger Trick
I remember this beauty tip from when I was a child and saw my grandmother do it. Place a finger into your mouth and pucker your lips around it. Then pull your finger out through your puckered lips to remove any lipstick that has got onto the inside of your lips. It is always the lipstick on the inside of your lips that transfers onto your teeth.
Use A Lip Liner As Lip Primer
It is natural for some lipsticks to bleed out during the day, especially during the heat of summer. The solution is using your lip liner as a lipstick primer. To do this start by lining your lips as you usually do with your lip liner, then fill in your lips with lip liner before reaching for your lipstick.
This will give your lips a primer base and prevent your lipstick from bleeding inward or outward.
Use A Straw When Consuming Drinks
There is a reason why you see so many influencers only using a straw when consuming drinks.
Besides the obvious of your lipstick not kissing off on the rim of your cup or glass, while kissing off on the rim of your cup or glass you will also smudge some lipstick onto the inside of your lips from where it can transfer onto your teeth.
There is an added bonus that using a straw helps prevent dark beverages from staining your teeth.
Use A Long-Lasting Lipstick
Thick, creamy lipsticks feel luxurious on your lips but they don’t have the reputation for staying in place all day. They are prone to wearing off, including to the inside of your lips and onto your teeth.
If you tend to get lipstick on your teeth then a long-lasting matte lipstick will be your best bet.
Apply Your Lipstick With A Brush
Sometimes getting lipstick on your teeth doesn’t indicate a problem with your lipstick. If you have thin lips then it is near impossible to prevent getting lipstick onto the inside of your lips when using bullet lipstick in a conventional manner.
To keep your lipstick exactly and only where you want it, switch to applying bullet lipsticks with a small lip brush to give you more control and prevent any of the product from getting to the inside of your lips.
