There is an expression along the lines of that it is our feet that anchor us to the ground. From the same perspective, you could say that girly shoes anchor us to an outward expression of our girliness.
Just last week I was chatting to someone who wore delicates under their drab clothing daily and was trying to think of a safe way to express some of their girliness outwardly. As it happened they had just taken up jogging to get into shape and were training for their first 5k.
They were planning to go shopping for new running sneakers. I made the suggestion that they only look at sneakers that had men’s and women’s shoes in the same model and that he try on the women’s sneakers till he found one that fit. The overall style of the sneaker would be the same, the color scheme would just be a bit girlier.
They followed my advice and got themselves running sneakers that looked girly only if someone knew what to look for. Their training runs became far more enjoyable as they were girly from the ground up – and so can you. Hugs.

I used to make my own girly sandals as early as 4 or 5. I had cousins who would visit and all I wanted was to wear their cute girly shoes. My mother, who was a beautician would fuss over their hair. She would also make them clothes. But I would sneak in ways to slide my feet into their shoes. As I got older, because of the narrowness of my foot, I had a few women’s sneakers that mirrored their male mates. When I finally left for college, extra money was spent on finding girly shoes that I could wear anywhere and at anytime. Into the wild world of adulthood, the joy in girly shoes wouldn’t stop. I needed more and more. Even now with grown children of my own, I have as large of a collection of shoes as my entire family combined. You could easily say that my girliness is built from the ground up.
Over the past few years, there have been few days where I was not wearing some form of women’s shoes. And it’s not just during workouts or in the sanctity of my home. I wear women’s shoes everywhere. I like panties and wear them often, but it’s the shoes that reign in my soul. Maybe it’s the symbolism as much as anything. You put on shoes to go somewhere and rarely backwards. There’s something about knowing that each step you take forward in life is secured by girliness. If I’m going somewhere, there’s no doubt about the girliness of the journey.
This is why I can say, though I might have a bias, that girly boys wear girly shoes. Not sometimes. Girly Boys wear girly shoes. (exclusions for big foot girlies).
