Girly, Daily, and Simple

Today’s post by Candace is well worth a read beyond just the caption. Like many of you, Candace is not able to live femme 24/7.

However, she has listed the daily rituals that she does in order to still feel girly every day. It is interesting that she uses her workouts as her opportunity to dress up more girly with sports bras and leggings. Thanks to the opportunity to be girly, she works out 5 or 6 days a week. If she wasn’t able to dress girly for her workouts, she probably wouldn’t be training nearly as often each week.

One girly activity that I would add to the list is to take some time to write in your journal as a way to connect with your girly feelings. It is also an opportunity to practice your girly handwriting. If you don’t yet have a girly journal, I’ve got you covered with this pretty pink notebook available on Amazon. It is the one that I use.

If you have a girly ritual that you do daily that Candace and I haven’t mentioned, share it in the comments below so that we can all help each other add a little more girliness into our lives each day. Hugs.

There are a few items on my girly list that are simple, daily, pleasures.  I’m not talking about the random dives into femininity or the once-in-a-blue-moon type fem-fluff.  These are the daily or almost daily items of immersion.

  1. Cute Bracelets–I have a few women’s bracelets to choose from daily.  There is nothing extra-femmy about them, but I know that they are made for women–and that’s what matters.
  2. Women’s Shoes–I have a goal to replace all men’s footwear with women’s shoes–I might even wear some ballet flats out if my wife gifted me some.  Every pair of tennis shoes I own are women’s–and I have many.  I have some casual dress shoes and am ready for some girly boots to add to the shoe shelves.  Wish list? I really want a black pair of Sorel Emelie zip booties or the Harlow lace-ups–just have to chunk down the change.  Women’s shoes, even if girly are a staple for me.  I admit: I am a shoe whore.
  3. Panties–Ah yes!  The “If I must hide my girliness, I’m still wearing these” panties.  It’s a staple for any girly boy.  It might not be every day, but it’s pretty close for me now.
  4. Almost Hair Free*Almost* because of my wife’s request not to be completely hair-free.  I consider shaving a luxury, not only for feel, but also for the process.  I actually enjoy the shave.  I don’t shave every day because I have thin, light-colored body hair.  But as often as I can, I’m shaving.  The only patch of hair I don’t shave close to the skin is my lower legs from just above the ankle to mid-knee–and that gets a short trim often.  And if you really want to know, yes, I shave that too, per my wife’s delight.
  5. Sweet Lotions–Oh, how I love girly-smelling lotions!  It’s such a small part of the daily girly regimen, that if you’re out of tune with your feminine self, you might overlook it.  Feminine-smelling soaps and shampoos are great too.
  6. Gym Bunny Wear–For me, this is the I work out 5-6 days a week.  I probably work out that often just to be able to wear my leggings, sports bras, tanks, and cute tennis shoes.  There are even times that I’ll wear my leggings to lounge around the house.  But since the kids are embarrassed some by it, I keep that to a minimum.  It’s a good reason to love the colder weather!
  7. And of course, daily sharing my feminine heart on this girly page.

There are some things that I wish were a little more frequent–some things that I don’t have enough of in order to wear or do on a near-daily basis.  I need more socks.  I desperately want more pants and shorts, as well as shirts.  I’d like to expand my jewelry options (earrings are a no-go per my wife’s request).  I could stand to have another dozen or two of shoes.  More than anything, I need the money for it all!  Maybe I’ll inherit a fortune from some long-lost girly boy cousin.

What do you consider to be a daily simple pleasure?  Please share…

I stay in shape by trail running. When I am not writing posts to help you be as feminine as you can be, I work as a therapist.
