So many girls believe that having a beautiful skin starts and ends with their face. The trouble with that thinking is while your face will stay soft and youthful, the rest of your skin will stay vulnerable to the elements that can make you look old before your time and maybe less femme too.
Earlier on I wrote an article for you about how to feminize your feet. I am sure you can remember how gorgeously feminine your feet felt at the end of that.
Now it is time to apply some of that same tender loving care to your hands.
1. Start Fresh
Before you apply any lotion, cream, or other hand treatment, make sure to take the time to wash your hands.
As you already know, your hands encounter dirty surfaces throughout any given day, collecting all kinds of dirt, bacteria, and maybe even viruses. The last thing that you want is to trap any of that into your skin.
Once you know that your hands are properly clean you will be ready for the next skincare tips.
2. Smooth Away Those Rough Dead Cells
You don’t need to do anything as drastic as what we did when we were feminizing your feet. That said, any build-up dry, dead skin cells on your hands will make it that much more difficult for the moisturizer to do its work.
The best thing that you can use to rid yourself of dry, dead skin cells on your hands is a gentle exfoliating scrub.
If your hands are particularly dry, you can use a small scrub brush to further refine your beautiful skin. Using very gentle, circular motions work in the exfoliating scrub and then rinse it away with lukewarm water. The emphasis is gentle, don’t scrub your skin raw.
For smooth hands and beautiful skin, consider exfoliating your hands two to three times your first week. Once your hands are smooth and soft reduce the frequency of scrubbing your hands down to once every week or even once every two weeks. You don’t want to scrub away healthy skin and make your hands raw and risk a skin infection
3. Give Your Skin A Moisture Surge
Just about everything that you do on a day to day basis can dry out the skin on your hands. Everything from hand washing, to washing dishes, hand washing your lingerie and hose, as well as using alcohol-based hand sanitizers dry out your skin.
I am not saying that you should stop doing any of these things. Just be aware that they will tend to dry out the skin on your hands. That way you will know to reach for the moisturizer regularly.
One hack that you may want to try, especially at the beginning to get as much softening moisture into your hands as possible is the glove method.
Apply a thick layer of moisturizing hand cream, then slip your hands into a pair of soft cotton gloves or mitts. This will better ensure that your skin absorbs as much moisture as possible instead of it rubbing off on your clothes or furniture.
If you don’t have any soft cotton gloves, use the backup trick that I used in college. I used a pair of soft cotton socks at a pair of mitts. If you do that, just please use a clean pair of cotton socks.
4. Protect Your Hands Throughout The Day
As I mentioned at the beginning, your hands encounter harmful skin-aging UV rays just like your face does.
Therefore, to take care of your beautiful hands apply hand cream that has SPF with broad-spectrum protection whenever you are heading out.
Beyond that, I make sure to have a tube of moisturizing hand cream in my bag so that I can moisturize my hands after washing them wherever I am throughout the day.
