All of us deal with limits to some degree on some level of our lives. I know the excitement that lives on the outer edge of my limits. There are some that live in a world of no limits that they have created. When it comes to a girly life, there are some who are able to be completely limitless in their girliness and others who fit being girly around the limits that are in their life. Candace is a girl who has family and societal limits to how girly she can be. As she mentions below, it is those limits that have allowed her to have the structure to her girliness and live a balanced and happy life. Hugs. Be sure to check out more about Candie at the end of the post and give her some Pink Femme love. While out for a brief jog this morning before the sun came up, I reflected a bit about my limitations. Here i am, running the streets of my neighborhood in black leggings and purple girl’s tennis shoes (very similar to the pic above); I have on panties and a sports bra; I am wearing a man’s cutoff shirt, but that’s the only piece of male clothing I have on; and I wonder, “Am I content with my limitations?” What I’m expressing about my limits are some limitations that my wife and I have agreed upon. If you haven’t picked up on it yet, I’m content with being discontent with my maleness. What I mean is that I’m pleased to portray a man, act like a man, and live as a man, while also happy to have this very special part of me that is Candie. I love my family--my wife and kids, parents, brother, aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, etc., etc. I love my job and the people I’m with each and every day. To press beyond my set limits risks upsetting everything and everyone in my life. Perhaps it would be different if I was younger or if I didn’t have kids, or if I didn’t...you know how the story goes. There are some very brave people in the world who have pushed themselves into a limitless adventure across gender lines and have come into an incredible happiness and peace--even if their rebirth has come with some painstaking challenges. They are heroes, if for no other reason than the fact that they have embraced their dreams. I guess that is what gives me relief to have limits. My limits have a place in my story. My dreams are not just about girliness. I have dreams about family, work, retirement, health, etc. as my male self that are outside of my little world of femininity. While at the same time, my girly urges are fulfilled within our set limits. To me, that’s special. I may never be seen as a hero or a champion of a limitless pursuit of womanhood, and I’m happy to have my dreams just the way that they are. It’s not an issue of cowardice. Being a coward is being selfish and I just don’t think of myself as selfish. Love is meant to be much more than a feeling. It’s sacrificing your own urges for the betterment of others. And that might mean some limitations. So, for me, limits have their place, not as confining restraints, but as respected boundaries within my story of life. “Limitless” may be your goal and I’m more than pleased to say, “Go for it!” I have my dreams and I will chase after them as you chase after yours.
