This is a cycle that I see all too often. New girls try and push their girliness too far, too soon which makes it feel as if their life is spinning out of control. What follows is a purging of all their girly things, believing that it was their girly things that made them feel girly. The truth is that your girly things are simply an outward expression of your inner girl. You have given her a voice and she wants to be heard.
That is why you come back to your girliness after each time you have purged. She is a part of you, not a part of the clothes you wear.
You will do much better if you take your girly journey one delicate step at a time rather than try and push too far too soon. That is why the 40-Steps to Femme have been structured the way they have.

I really do mean this as an encouragement. If you’re on a feminine journey and have some goals, don’t stop. Seriously, don’t put the brakes on. But, just as seriously, even if you had the opportunity to stop, I doubt you can. This path that we girly boys are on is a good path and one that won’t go away. Our culture’s expectations about men might convince you for a moment to give up. Certain religious traditions might try to guilt you out of it. You might decide to have a bonfire and roast all of your feminine clothing in a purging ceremony.
But let me tell you something: That doesn’t work. All it’s doing is wasting your time and money because you’ll be back at it. Again, I’m not trying to depress you at all. I’m just laying out the facts. This isn’t going away because it’s embedded in you. That’s actually a great thing! This is who you are and your progress toward more girliness is part of who you are becoming. You may slow down, even to a crawl, but you won’t be able to rid it from your life. Just keep pushing along at any speed, enjoy the process, let go of the idea that you’ll give it up, and just be you–girly you, increasingly girly you.
Much love to you, my girlies. Keep pressing on.
