3 Ways To Easily Remove Eyeliner

If you’re just getting into the world of using eyeliner you will likely have to deal with a line that went wrong in the middle of your eyeliner application. Making mistakes is part of learning. We were all there at some stage. I made many mistakes on the road to having my cat-eye eyeliner looking the same on my left and right eye. Then there is the process of removing makeup at the end of a day or night out. This is an equally important part of your daily skincare/beauty routine.

What are the best ways to easily remove eyeliner?

  • Use micellar water to remove eyeliner
  • Use eye makeup remover to remove eyeliner
  • Use makeup wipes to remove eyeliner

Let’s take a closer look at the three different methods that I use to remove eyeliner and when I use each. That way there is no need for you to fret over a spoiled makeup look or seemingly irremovable cat-eye.

Using Micellar Water To Remove Eyeliner

Micellar water remains my go-to favorite way to remove makeup and that includes eye makeup.

It contains micelle molecules that cluster together and lift away makeup particles and other impurities from your skin. There is no need for any harsh rubbing.

It works great for when you have flicked a wing of eyeliner a little too far or want to remove a misdrawn line without ruining the rest of your eye makeup look. Simply dip a cotton swab/cue tip in the liquid formula and wipe away the mistake. It will leave your skin surface clean and ready for you to try again. There is no need for any rinsing at all. When it comes to total eye makeup removal, saturate a cotton pad in micellar water, hold it over your eye for a few seconds, then gently wipe away all your eye makeup including eyeliner.

Using Eye Makeup Remover To Remove Eyeliner

Do you need something stronger than micellar water to remove stubborn long-lasting waterproof eyeliner? Then eye makeup remover is your best bet.

It has been formulated to dissolve waterproof eye makeup but has been ophthalmologist tested to be specifically safe for use around your eyes.

If you have sensitive eyes use your eye makeup remover only around your eyes and micellar water for the rest of your makeup. This will prevent any cross-contamination of your eye makeup remover.

Using Makeup Wipes To Remove Eyeliner

There is no way that I could leave makeup wipes off the list. These are absolutely essential while traveling as it is easy to stash a pack in your purse or backpack.

I always use them on those long-haul overnight flights before catching some airplane sleep. After landing I straight to the restroom and do my makeup including nude eyeliner to make my eyes look more awake than I feel.

Another use for makeup wipes is after a late night out I can use my trip home in the back of a taxi or Uber to remove my makeup (including eyeliner) mid commute.

It would be tempting to only use makeup wipes each and every day. However, wipes are not bio-degradable and I want to reduce my impact on landfills as much as possible.

When it comes to my choices for makeup and beauty products, I only use  L’Oréal Paris (Available on Amazon). I have really sensitive skin and never once have I had any negative reaction to any L’Oréal product.
